Valdez – Glaciers, Mountains and Marine Wildlife
Valdez, the northernmost ice-free port in North America, lies about 300 miles from Anchorage along some of Alaska’s most scenic driving routes. It is also accessible by sea across Prince William Sound on the Alaska Marine Highway.
An abundance of marine wildlife, snow-covered peaks, tidal glaciers and the surrounding Chugach National Forest make Valdez a rewarding stop for cruises and self-drive road trips. Anglers also love Valdez for its excellent fishing throughout much of the year.
