Chris Duncan

Product & Operations Manager

Chris grew up in Cape Town, South Africa where he spent his childhood road tripping around the country with his family.

His first tour planning experience came in high school when he arranged a river rafting trip for his class, and by the age of 20 he went to work in the USA and truly caught the travel bug, leading him to study Tourism & Tour Operations.

Chris has spent many years guiding groups on the roads and rivers of Southern & East Africa, and moved to Canada in 2014 where he has been exploring the mountains, lakes and forests ever since.

In his spare time, Chris love to be outdoors, hiking, golfing or playing in the snow.

What is your favorite place in Canada?

I lived in Toronto for 7 years, so Algonquin Provincial Park became my second home. Experiencing it in all different seasons is truly remarkable – I am lucky to have run, hiked, canoed and dog-sledded through its varied terrain.

What is your best travel memory in Canada?

There are so many it's hard to choose just one! In 2021 I relocated from Toronto to Vancouver with my wife, taking 10 days to drive across the country. Watching the landscapes change from the Great Lakes to the Prairies and then to the Rockies was very special, and camping and hiking along the way allowed us to really experience it all.

What one thing in Canada should you experience at least once in your life?

It's still on my list of things to do, but as a wildlife fanatic, having the opportunity to see bears (polar, black or brown) in the wild is an experience I would highly recommend! Plus, Canada has some of the top spots in the Arctic to see the ‘king of the ice’.
